Sarah Berhane

Sarah Berhane is research fellow in medical statistics at the University of Birmingham. Sarah works on the development of diagnostic and prognostic models and test accuracy evaluation. 

 

Nazatulshima Hassan

Nazatulshima Hassan is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is the Programme Coordinator for Foundation in Science programme at the Department of Technical Foundation. Her research interests are in the areas of multivariate analysis and variable selection with applications to either engineering or genetic data. She completed her PhD in Biostatistics under the supervision of Prof. Marta García-Fiñana, Dr Gabriela Czanner and Prof. Andrea Jorgensen.

Daniel Lythgoe

Daniel Lythgoe is Principal Statistician at the Pharmaceutical company Phastar. Daniel completed his PhD on time-to-event latent variable models for the statistical analysis of clinical data under the supervision of Dr. Trevor Cox and Prof. Marta García-Fiñana

Nurain Ibrahim

Nurain Ibrahim

Nurain Ibrahim is Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Statistics and Decision Science at the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia. Her areas of expertise include data mining and multivariate data analysis. She completed her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Marta García-Fiñana and Prof. Chris Probert with the title “Variable Selection Methods for Classification: Application to Metabolomics Data".

Carolyn Furlong

Carolyn Furlong is a Principal Clinical Scientist in radiotherapy physics at Liverpool Clatterbridge Cancer Center. During her PhD, Carolyn investigated the precision and accuracy of surface area and volume estimators of the human brain using stereology and magnetic resonance imaging (under the supervision of Profs. Neil Roberts and Marta García-Fiñana).

 

Andrew England

Andrew England is a Senior Lecturer at University College Cork, Ireland. He teaches medical imaging and radiation therapy as part of a registration master's programme. His research interests are in breast cancer detection, digital radiography, CT dose optimisation and advanced imaging technologies, including AI.  He completed his PhD in Biostatistics in 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Marta García-Fiñana, Dr. Diane Scutt and Prof. Richard McWilliams.

 

Joanne Powell

Joanne Powell is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psycholgy at Edge Hill University and honorary lecturer at the University of Liverpool. Her research interests are in the application of quantitative structural, functional and diffusion MRI techniques to study brain-behaviour relationships in health and disease. In particular, her fields of expertise are in the areas of handedness and hemispheric laterality, in addition to cognitive functioning, mental health and wellbeing. She completed her Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Liverpool and graduated in 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Marta García-Fiñana, Prof. Graham Kemp, Prof. Neil Roberts and Prof. Vanessa Sluming.
