I am a Lecturer in Health Psychology in the Appetite and Obesity research group, Department of Psychological Sciences.
My research focuses on lifestyle behaviour change, in particular how to support health professionals to maximise opportunities to help patients to make changes to health-related behaviours and lifestyle factors (including obesity, smoking, alcohol, sleep). I am interested in designing, developing and evaluating complex behaviour change interventions in applied settings.
I am trained in Motivational Interviewing, deliver behaviour change training to a range of health professionals, and provide behaviour change support to patients with long-term conditions including psoriasis and psoriasis arthritis.
I am currently the chair of the Early Career Network for the UK Society for Behavioural Medicine, a committee member for INSPIRE (Early Career Network for the International Society for Behavioural Medicine), and a member of the BPS Obesity Task and Finish Group.
