Department of Public Health and Policy

Partnerships and collaborations are at the heart of our work in the Department

Academics in the Department fully participate in the North West NHS Postgraduate Specialist Training Scheme in Public Health, acting as academic supervisors and tutors for trainees, hosting academic placements, and supervising academic clinical fellowships and clinical lectureships as an integral part of the scheme.

Members of the Department are actively engaged with the public health community in the NHS, Local Authorities and beyond within the City of Liverpool, across Merseyside and the North West Region and nationally with the Department of Health, Faculty of Public Health, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, and Public Health England.

All senior academics in the Department contribute to the academic supervision of specialist trainees and have developed strong links to the public health system and policy-making bodies.
