The University’s Sponsorship of Research Policy provides an environment within which compliance with the relevant regulations can be achieved across all of our research activities, and its standards and principles should be applied to healthcare research that falls within and outwith of RGF and the Regulations, to ensure a consistent approach. A sponsor is defined for the purposes of the Policy as the body that guarantees and oversees a research project or clinical trial, ensuring that there are proper arrangements in place to initiate, manage, monitor and finance a study.
