Environmental Futures

If modern industries and technologies pose a threat to the environment of unprecedent severity, they also give rise to deep philosophical questions.  What environmental safeguards do we owe future generations?  When is it right to use technological solutions to environmental problems? Do we need to develop entirely new moral & political philosophies to cope with intensifying environmental problems?
