Naming Ceremony for "Gillian Howie House"
On 12 May, 5-6 pm, we will celebrate the renaming of our new institutional home in the Sir Alastair Pilkington Building to “Gillian Howie House”, to honour the memory of our former colleague, the late Gillian Howie, who was the first female professor of Philosophy at the University of Liverpool. We will reveal a memorial plaque, and there will be drinks and canapees, uplifting speeches, and live music kindly provided by the Martin Smith Trio.
