Development Tutor Scheme 2017-2018
For 2017-2018 the LDC Development Team are offering a new scheme to help PGRs across the University gain training and paid part-time opportunities within the LDC Development programme. The scheme will help you gain valuable skills for your CV, experience in facilitation techniques for University teaching, for both face-to-face and online delivery, and also the opportunity to significantly shape and contribute to the research environment for postgraduate researchers.
The scheme is open to all post-graduate researchers at Livepool who have completed one year of their PhD.
This programme is enhanced by the following workshops on facilitation. The workshops are open to all PGRs, whether or not they are on the Development Tutor Scheme, but most applicants to the scheme will be expected to have attended at least three of these workshops, including 'Designing & Facilitating Experiential Learning Exercises' and 'Designing & Facilitating Development Workshops'.
- Webinar: Introduction to Facilitation
- Asking Good Questions as a Facilitator
- Becoming a Facilitator
- Facilitating Meetings
- Designing & Facilitating Experiential Learning Exercises
- Designing & Facilitating Development Workshops
Apart from the webinar, all the above are short workshops (< 2 hour).
Note: Items 3,5, and 6 replace the full day workshop, ‘Facilitation Methods and their Application in the Development of PGRs’ presented in 2016/17.
Upcoming dates and further details for the above workshops will be available on the LDC Development programme timetable.
