Who am I?
I am a mass spectrometrist – no surprise there. I am part of the shared research facility and my role is to run, and process samples that are sent my way, and generally help any way I can.

Things that I work on.
I work with research groups internally and externally to the University. Most work that comes my way is LC-MS/MS projects that include, shotgun proteomics, TMT labelling, phospho-enrichment. I also look after the more unusual mass spec projects that include the use of the REIMS, MALDI and intact protein analysis. No two projects are the same and it is one of the best things about the role is that variety of samples, techniques and people I get to work with.

Pre-Liverpool.
I obtained an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Reading in 2010, where I was first introduced to mass spectrometry. I then completed a Masters in Physical Science of Imaging for the Biomedical Sciences or PSIBS for short at a doctoral training centre at the University of Birmingham and continued to complete my PhD with Prof Helen Cooper, Dr Josephine Bunch and Prof Trish Lalor, entitled - Liquid micro-junction surface sampling and MALDI imaging of small and large molecules in human liver disease. Eventually graduating in 2015.
