I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2014 with a BSc in Biochemistry. In the final year of my degree I completed a research project looking at proteins involved in border cell migration in Drosophila, as a model for ovarian cancer in humans. I am now starting a BBSRC DTP funded PhD studentship, in which I will be using quantitative phosphoproteomics to look at the role of reversible phosphorylation in Drosophila development. In particular, my project will be focused on the protein PNUTS, known to play a key role in developmental growth by regulating reversible phosphorylation.
