Healthy Volunteers for APIF

Published on

Hello... Can you help? We are looking for healthy volunteers between the ages of 30-65 to participate in our Fibromyalgia research project- APIF (Autoimmunity Informed Phenotyping in Fibromyalgia Syndrome). The purpose of this research is to understand more about patients skin sensitivity & temperature preference and how this might link to the immune system.

We have recently found autoimmune antibodies in Fibromyalgia and this research builds upon that.

We need 30 healthy volunteers to help generate a baseline for our sensory tests and to provide blood samples which we can use as a control in our laboratory experiments. Taking part involves meeting with one of the research team for a few questions, some sensory tests (pressure, and brush stroke) and a blood sample- about 50ml.

The appointment will last 45 minutes-1 hour.

If you are interested in volunteering , it would be fantastic to hear from you.

Our study coordinator is Hayley (Hayley.McCullough@liverpool.ac.uk) who can provide more information and what to do next.

We are reimbursing up to £30 for travel expenses and car parking
