Innovators in Orthoptics
See it in our training and research
The Directorate of Orthoptics is an influential member of the UK's Orthoptics community, as an educator and as a leading research unit.
We design, deliver and support a wide-ranging education programme for Orthoptists, including a 3-year BSc (Hons) course, postgraduate training and continuous professional development.
Our staff include acclaimed experts in many fields of Orthoptics. They're widely published and make sure the latest research knowledge and practice are quickly incorporated into our courses.
Through our partnerships with the NHS we can offer high quality placements for our students nationally, whilst ensuring our courses remain relevant to the workplace and our students employable.
We're contributing to the development of the profession too. Members of our team hold key positions with the British & Irish Orthoptics Society, the professional body governing Orthoptists in the UK and Eire.
The Directorate is part of the , as well as the larger eye and vision sciences community based here at the University of Liverpool.
