Each piece in the programme is linked to Schoenberg’s seminal work Pierrot Lunaire and will include: Fantasia and Two Pavanes by Peter Maxwell Davies; Double Sextet by Steve Reich; Pierrot Sketch No. 1 solo viola and tape; and premieres of Our Place: No.1, Ebb by Brittany Collie and New Work by Daniel Thorne, who are both postgraduate composers from the University.
The event will be followed by a short round-table discussion reflecting on compositional influences between some of the composers, Clark Rundell and Ben Hackbarth, the University’s Head of Composition.
