Robert Sheppard has extensively contributed to what he has described as 'linguistically innovative poetry' as both a poet and a critic. Among his many poetry collections are the long-running work 'Twentieth Century Blues', a series spanning many collections and collected in The Complete Twentieth Century Blues in 2008. Among his critical output are The Salt Companion to Lee Harwood, which he edited, and The Poetry of Saying: British Poetry and its Discontents.
