Sujata Bhatt & Michael Augustin
In April 2014 the multiple award-winning poets Sujata Bhatt and Michael Augustin gave a reading from their work and discussed the art of literary translation. Clips from each reading and questions from the audience are below.
Sujata Bhatt
Sujata Bhatt has published seven poetry collections. Her first, Brunizem (1988), won the Alice Hunt Bartlett Award and she has since received a Cholmondeley Award in 1991 and the Italian Tratti Poetry Prize in 2000. She currently lives in Germany.
Michael Augustin
As well as publishing several collections of poetry, Michael Augustin translates from Irish and American poetry and works as a radio broadcaster in his native Germany, presenting a regular poetry program.
