If you are looking for a new hobby, perhaps this four-week course in Nordic Walking could be your new pursuit?
Nordic walking is a full-body exercise that's easy on the joints and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It was devised by cross country skiers who wanted to keep training throughout the summer months.
It is based on normal walking but the use of poles means that the upper body and core muscles, as well as the lower body are being toned and strengthened, so it is more effective than walking without poles. Like any other form of exercise, Nordic Walking can be used as part of an exercise programme to lose weight and to improve cardiovascular fitness. It is also sociable and fun! What better place to learn this new skill than in the beautiful gardens!
This four-week course will take place every Thursday starting from the 6th February and finishing on the 27th of February with sessions from 11:00am-12:30pm every week.
Remember to bring walking shoes but walking sticks and other equipment will be provided on the day.
