Ness Gardens in winter

January

Enjoy the stunning barks of tree especially of our birches, plentiful of colourful berries which can be enjoyed until the birds enjoy them and spectacular seed heads.  Fabulous views across to North Wales sprinkled with spots of colour across the gardens from early flowered camellias like J.C. Williams, and the occasional clump of Snowdrops.

One of the more intriguing and vibrant species which offers a surprising beam of colour in what is often thought of as a bleak period, is Witch Hazel. This species can be seen in the picure above this text. You can find several specimens dotted around Ness, some of which pepper the rock garden and a vivd yellow example is on show in the Pine Woods.
