UK Music Announces Liverpool graduate as winner of OMG Awards 2023

Congratulations to Lizzy Wood, a graduate from the University of Liverpool, who has been named as the winner of the Outstanding Music Academic Partnership Graduate Awards 2023.
As as student, Lizzy played an integral role in developing the University of Liverpool record label Merciful Sound. She also engaged in an impressive and comprehensive range of extra-curricular activity while studying, including fundraising gigs that raised over £2,000 for charity.
After graduating in 2022 with a first-class BA (Hons) Music and Law degree, Lizzy has since secured a full-time A&R position at Polydor (UMG).
The awards took place at Phase One, Liverpool, on Thursday 27 April, with Eurovision and music legend Sandie Shaw presenting the winners award, which were run in partnership with Sound City, the independent festival for new music.
Special mentions on the night also went to University of Liverpool Music & Technology with Philosophy graduate Ema Gazdík, who now works as a as Production Manager at Future Yard, Wirral.
