Equilibrium is a new ensemble dedicated to performing works by women composers in an attempt to redress the gender imbalance in the programming of classical music concerts. The aim is to programme works by hitherto neglected women composers alongside contemporary pieces by women, and to encourage and support young women composers by commissioning new works.
This recording, of a concert given in the Leggate Theatre at the Victoria Gallery & Museum on 6 November 2019, will be preceded by a short, specially recorded introduction to the ensemble and the programme from the ensemble's founder, Hilary Browning.
