The Welcome Week programme for Languages, Cultures and Film offers a mix of practical and social events for all our students, including those doing combined degrees that include a language or Film Studies and another subject. Key events include a Departmental welcome talk for all new undergraduates joining us in Year 1, as well as subject-specific inductions. From film screenings and campus tours to taster sessions in all the languages offered in the Department, there will be something for everyone.
Our programme of events aims to provide you with a warm welcome, help you to find your way around the campus and navigate the myriad things you need to know in preparation for the academic year. In addition to introducing you to your home department, fellow students, and subject leads, Welcome Week will give you a chance to meet with your academic advisor and address any questions you may have ahead of your first week of classes.
