    I am investigating the effects that environmental factors, such as teaching and institutional practices have on the language learner.

    Digital literacies, participation in online environments for language learning, creative language use

    I am working on creative language use as evident in computer-mediated communication and how to prepare learners for active participation in second language CMC.

    Multilingualism and the lingua franca

    I am interested in the effects of the Lingua Franca English on multilingualism and language learner motivation in Britain and Germany.
