Personal Statement
I'm a medievalist specialising in representations of animals and sound in texts from the Middle Ages. I research ideas of nature and culture in French literature, as well as the development of medieval vernacular song and text in medieval France and England. After completing a PhD in French Studies as a Wolfson Scholar at the University of Warwick, I took a position as lecteur de langue anglaise at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. I am currently Lecturer in French at the University of Liverpool and I teach at the University of Oxford.
