Perfopoetry at Bunch Wine Bar

Fancy a cultured evening out? Look no further than Perfopoetry!

On 11th December Bunch Wine Bar will be opening its doors at 7pm to welcome Perfopoetry: an evening of poetry performed in Spanish, English and many more languages. This event, in conjunction with the Spanish Ministry for Culture and Amargord publishers, will bring together people from all walks of life in celebration of a collective love for poetry.

But what is Perfopoetry? Perfopoetry is performance poetry, where spoken word becomes a means of expression. This poetry, no longer just a written art form but also a verbal one, usually takes place in alternative venues outside official or prestigious literary circles such as cafés, bars or clubs and without any form of support from official cultural institutions. Perfopoetry, however, manages to attract a high number of poets and audience members, contributing to the emergence of a new and non-traditional generation of literary consumers and producers that signifies a major cultural shift.

Adopting this same idea, the MLC department will welcome performers including Pablo Cortina, Silvi Orión and Javier Arnaiz to name but a few. This is a perfect evening for language, theatre and poetry lovers. This event is open to the public and free? to attend. If you’re looking for some art, performance, and culture then look no further than Perfopoetry on 11th December.
