Dr Richard Latten MBChB, MD, FRCP

Personal Statement

Dr Latten's clinical role is as a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Wirral University Teaching Hospital and Wirral Hospice St Johns. He has an interest in medical education and wellbeing for all healthcare staff including those in both undergraduate & postgraduate training.

Within the University of Liveprool he completed MD research within the Palliative Care Institute Liverpool in 2015 and has been educational supervisor to 4th year student doctors on clinical placement at Wirral Hospice St Johns. In December 2018 he joined the university as Deputy Director of Wellbeing within the School of Medicine.

In addition to clinical and university roles, he is medical lead for Schwartz rounds within Wirral University Teaching Hospital and also a hospital staff governor representing medical and dental staff. He is also the Royal College of Physicians Regional Speciality Advisor for Palliative Medicine in the Mersey region.
