    Diagnosis of typhoid (enteric) fever

    Dr Wijedoru holds a MSc in Tropical Paediatrics from LSTM, with a research interest in the epidemiology and diagnosis of bacterial infections (especially typhoid fever) among children in Asia.

    He was worked as a clinical research fellow for the University of Oxford's Tropical Medicine Research Network in South and South East Asia, conducting bacteraemia studies in children in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Cambodia.

    Diagnostic and prognostic indicators in child abuse

    Dr Wijedoru has an interest in the complexities, challenge, and uncertainty of the diagnosis of all forms of childhood abuse.

    He is in the process of working closely with Alder Hey Children's Hospital dedicated department for child abuse (The Rainbow Centre) to create robust databases from existing data suitable for sophisticated statistical modelling, and possible Artificial Intelligence (AI) development.

    He has a secondary interest for the use of paediatric evidence in legal proceedings, especially by expert witnesses on child abuse cases.

    Technology Enhanced Learning

    From his experience as a MSc Director of Studies, clinical lecturer, and clinical teacher, Dr Wijedoru is growing increasingly interested in the evaluation of technology as an adjunct to effective undergraduate and postgraduate education.
