About

Personal Statement

A University of Leeds graduate, Dr Young completed his Undergraduate training in the West Yorkshire region where he graduated in 2012.

Prior to his initial appointment as an Associate Clinical Teacher (ACT) at the School of Medicine in Liverpool, November 2017, he completed foundation training in the Yorkshire region working in both Leeds and Bradford. This was followed by further clinical experience working in an Emergency Department in Melbourne, Australia, before commencing General Practice training back in the UK, in the Mersey Deanery.

Following this he took a year out of programme between August 2018 - August 2019 as a Clinical Medical Education Fellow. During this time he pursued a keen interest in student teaching as well as educational research, simulation, communication skills, assessment and student support. Achievements during this time included being shortlisted for a Faculty Learning, Teaching and Student Experience Award, and also being shortlisted for a trainee ASME award.

Subsequently he has taken on his current role as a MBChB Clinical Teacher where he continues to engage in teaching delivery as well as ongoing content development.
