Postgraduate Diploma in Radiotherapy

Two years of accelerated training

We have designed our postgraduate diploma in radiotherapy for people who have a qualifying degree in a health, life sciences or scientific discipline.

The programme will take you to pre-registration stage, as with the undergraduate course, and provides a Masters level qualification.

Along with intensive academic study, the Post Graduate Diploma provides carefully structured placements at the three major cancer centres and their satellites across the North West of England.

There you will develop radiotherapy skills and experience, working under skilled therapeutic radiographers whom we train and support in their teaching role.

Unusually for a programme of this type, it starts in January each year, so you will qualify ahead of the UK's undergraduate population. Our postgraduates have managed to secure their first post employment months ahead of qualification.

Students are eligible for NHS funding and we have approximately ten places available each year.
