I am an assistant professor (Lecturer in the UK system) of risk at the Liverpool Institute for Financial and Actuarial Mathematics (IFAM) and the Head of Consultancy in the department of mathematics. I hold a Ph.D. in Mathematical Finance from the University of Montreal and a Ph.D. in Economics from Concordia University, Montreal. I was awarded Balvir Singh medal for outstanding results in my economics thesis. My research interests cover different areas including insurance, reinsurance, asset pricing, agricultural insurance, and game theory. I am the founder of Financial and Actuarial Mathematics group in Iran (FINACT-IRAN) and I already chaired FINACT-IRAN conference in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. I have been actively involved in the University administration duties. Before my current position as the Head of Consultancy, I served one year and a half as the director of the MSc program in Financial Mathematics, one year as the deputy director of this program and two years as the deputy director of the BSc program of mathematics with finance. Since January 2016 I have moved to the Liverpool Institute for Risk and Uncertainty, where I am actively involved in activities related to training Ph.D.’s in the EPSRC-ESRC Center for Doctoral Training (CDT) in risk and uncertainty. Since September 2014 I have become a member of the advisory board of Agricultural Finance Review.
