The group carries out mathematical research applied to a wide range of biological problems, including pattern formation, propagation of excitation waves, population dynamics, epidemiology, evolution, systems biology and biological fluid dynamics.

Cellular mechanisms of gastrulation: a combined experimental and modelling study (BBSRC funded Project)

vertices formed by cellular flows in chick embryo

‌This project aims an understanding of biophysical mechanisms govering development of embryo. The experimental studies of cellural migration patterns carried in Dundee are checked against cellular flows in simulations on mathematical models carried in Liverpool.
