I chose the Year in Industry as I know it will provide me with invaluable transferable skills for when I graduate into today’s business world.

Why did you choose to study at the University of Liverpool Management School?

When I first visited the University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS) on the Open Day I felt an immediate affiliation with the university, campus and city.

It gave me an immense sense of community spirit as well as the culture that the city clearly exudes.

I was also highly impressed by the facilities offered by the Management School that were evidenced during the presentation by the Director of the programme which related to the curriculum as well as the high standard of teaching and achievements, all of which gave me the confidence that I would succeed academically.

Why did you choose your course?

I always knew I wanted to pursue business by studying Business Studies at A Level. The University of Liverpool allowed me to do this with great flexibility with the Business Management course as I could choose modules tailored to my interests alongside its AACSB Accreditation.

Most importantly I chose the Year in Industry as I know it will provide me with invaluable transferable skills for when I graduate into today’s business world.

What do you feel has been the most rewarding element of your course?

For me, the ability to learn and challenge perspectives and theories has been the most rewarding because I believe it will be incredibly useful when completing my placement and understanding real-life business practice.

Achieving the Student of the Year award was a privilege and something that provided a great sense of achievement and also recognition of my perseverance and hard work.

However, this would never have been achieved if it wasn’t for the excellent teaching, support and help that I received from my lecturers.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of studying at the Management school?

If you are thinking of studying at ULMS I would advise you to definitely do it! As a Russell Group University, the School can offer you a wonderful opportunity to achieve your future aspirations in business.

Not only can the Management School offer you academic success, but it also offers the opportunity to join various societies, all of which can provide you with invaluable experience and knowledge.

There are a variety of courses available in ULMS so my advice to any prospective students would be to research all the options thoroughly to ensure you are making a suitable choice for your own individual needs.

What have you enjoyed most about your student experience?

My student experience has been everything I wanted it to be! I have taken opportunities to be part of a mixture of societies and experience the fabulous nightlife of Liverpool.

I have made friends for life and embraced the culture that the city offers. For me, I have especially enjoyed overcoming the challenges of my course which have been reflected through the significant academic accolades that I have achieved in my first year.

What do you get up to when you're not studying?

I am a member of the tennis society which not only provides me with the opportunity to keep fit and active but also enables me to enjoy a game of tennis with other students from different courses.

I have also volunteered to work as part of the Enactus society which is a very rewarding activity when we succeed in helping those that are perhaps less fortunate than others.

Of course, Liverpool has a wonderful social life that allows me to spend quality time with my friends.

What have you enjoyed the most about living in Liverpool?

I have enjoyed meeting new friends, growing in confidence and becoming a more independent person in this safe and vibrant city which will remain a memorable experience in my life.
