I am enjoying learning about a completely different culture
What were you doing before you began MSc study?
I worked as Financial Risk Advisory Snr Consultant in Deloitte Mexico. I also previously studied industrial engineering
Why did you choose to study at the University of Liverpool Management School?
I chose to study Master in Management at the University of Liverpool as I believe it will help to increase my opportunities for managerial positions. I also wanted to take advantage of the University of Liverpool's excellent reputation.
Did you receive a scholarship?
Yes, I received the Management School's Future Leaders Scholarship which covers my full degree costs.
Which aspects of the MSc course do you think will be most beneficial to your career development?
The way of assessment is primarily based on essays. This is a new approach for me, but I truly believe that it will enhance my reasoning and critical skills. As well as this, there are prople from different countries and backgrounds on my programme meaning my leadership and managerial techniques/skills are reviewed from different perspectives. It also allows me to build contacts and enhance my network.
Will you be undertaking a consultancy as part of your programme?
Not as mandatory, however, currently I am part of the 'We Can Work it out' master's Consultancy Challenge which is organised by ULMS. I am working with a compnay called Sysdoc and helping to come with a solution to a business problem they have.
What have you enjoyed most about living in Liverpool?
I am enjoying learning about a completely different culture to the one I am used to at home in Mexico.
