Economic Development

My research interests are mainly in the area of economic development, emerging market growth and primary commodity prices. Past research was focussed on the estimation and testing of real commodity price trends over long periods. The emphasis of my current and recent research has mainly been on the evolution of commodity export dependence and its impact on developing countries. The structural impact of commodity price cycles has recently received renewed interest against the background of accelerating emerging market growth and the primary commodity price boom of the early 21 century.
