I am Director of Studies for the Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA (THIMBA) at the University of Liverpool. Prior to taking up this role at the Management School in 2015 I was a consultant, working on commercial projects in the sports and information technology market sectors.
I am an experienced commercial executive with a 20+ year track record of success. Operating at a senior level in both entrepreneurial and large organisations, such as Cisco Systems, I have demonstrated an ability to build partnerships and achieve sales targets in competitive and challenging markets. I am a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, who has successfully negotiated multi-million pound contracts with organisations such as BT, Belgacom and HSBC. I have been part of the management team of start-up companies that were acquired by Nortel Networks and Cisco Systems.
Working in interim and consultancy positions, I have been able to contribute to complex commercial situations immediately. I thrive in challenging environments and seek to build on what is working well, whilst able to determine how commercial processes can be enhanced and improved. My work in the horseracing industry has included projects with the Racing Post, Leaders in Racing and Frontier Economics. I have run a number of horseracing syndicates and had horses in training with Andrew Balding, Robert Cowell, William Knight and David O'Meara.
