Research

Research Overview

My scholarship focuses on management learning and leadership development. At present I have several strands of research. Having completed a Future of Leadership study in 2019 investigating the implications for leadership development of a more digitised future, I followed up the same participants in 2020 with a study on the Lessons of Covid-19 for a Digitalised Future. I currently have a publication stream in process related to these, as well as others on the question of how managers learn to do collaborative leadership, and the use of reflexivity in professional auditor development.

Research Interest 1

My research focuses on the interplay of leadership and management development and organising processes. This has previously looked at the impact of leadership on organisational practices, particularly in small entrepreneurial organisations. I am currently interested in ways of engaging learners in issues of integrity in professional and management practice, and in ways managers develop their knowledge through practice and critical reflection.
