Welcome to the Development Research Initiative (DRIVE) at the University of Liverpool.

Purpose:

Development Studies is a multidisciplinary branch of social science which addresses issues of concern to the social and economic development of countries. Its relevance extends to communities and regions all over the world. As a subject of study, development studies has grown in popularity since the early 1990s, and has been widely taught and researched in several university departments in the UK – a country where it is commonly accepted to have originated. The Development Studies Knowledge Platform was created to allow networking between researchers and teachers in development studies at the University of Liverpool and beyond.

Membership:

We have members from across the University. While most members are from the Management School, we also have members from departments like Human Geography, Environmental Science, LSTM and Women’s Hospital.
