The University of Liverpool Management School welcomed business leaders and partners to its latest Business Breakfast event: Engage, Collaborate, Grow: Partnering with the Management School, held on Wednesday 1 July at the Brett Building.
The session highlighted the many ways organisations can collaborate with the School to access talent, develop their workforce and engage with academic expertise.
Hosted by Kate Dalton, External Engagement Officer, the event brought together representatives from businesses across the Liverpool City Region and beyond for a morning of networking, discussion and practical insights into partnership opportunities.
Attendees heard from colleagues across the School, including Anthony Murphy, Employability Team Leader, who outlined opportunities for employers to engage with students through internships, placements and live consultancy projects.
Professor Carl Gavin, Director of Executive Education, highlighted leadership development programmes, bespoke training opportunities and flexible learning solutions designed to support workforce development.
Dr David Cockayne, Associate Dean Knowledge Exchange and External Engagement, explored the benefits of research collaboration, consultancy projects and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, demonstrating how businesses can access specialist expertise to address organisational challenges and drive innovation.
The event also featured a partner perspective from Damian Meyers, Managing Director of Clan Contracting, who shared his organisation's experience of working with the Management School and the value that university-business collaboration can bring.
Speaking after the event, attendees commented on the breadth of opportunities available through the Management School and the value of bringing together employers, academics and professional services colleagues in one forum. The event was designed to provide a clear overview of collaboration opportunities for organisations of all sizes, from talent recruitment and workforce development to research and innovation partnerships.
The Business Breakfast series will return in the next academic year, continuing to create opportunities for organisations to connect with the University of Liverpool Management School and explore new ways of working together.
