The University of Liverpool Management School’s MSc Finance programme has been recognised by the Financial Times (FT) and ranked among the top 70 programmes globally in its Masters in Finance pre-experience 2026 ranking.
Now in its 15th year, the ranking lists the top pre-experience MSc Finance programmes from business schools across the world, including universities in France, China, Portugal, Italy and Spain.
Information collected from participating schools is combined with data from alumni three years after graduation to calculate the rankings.
The overall results are then based on 19 different categories covering alumni career progress, school diversity, international experience, research, ESG and carbon footprint.
Alumni career progress continues to be a core part of the Management School’s performance. Graduates who responded reported an average salary increase of 39% between completing the programme and today, while 81% highlighted that they had achieved the goals that motivated them to undertake their studies.
The support provided to students and graduates was also recognised by the FT, as the Management School’s careers service was ranked 40th overall for its effectiveness in career counselling, personal development, networking events, internship search and recruitment.
Additionally, the Management School’s alumni network was ranked 43rd overall, highlighting its effectiveness in supporting career opportunities, new business ventures, recruitment and professional networking.
Diversity and academic excellence also contributed to this year’s ranking. The FT report stated that 41% of full-time faculty are women and that women make up 40% of the advisory board. International faculty account for 66% of full-time academic staff, and 92% of faculty hold doctoral degrees.
Overall satisfaction among alumni remained high, with graduates awarding the programme a score of 8.75 out of 10.
Commenting on the ranking, Jason Laws, Associate Dean Postgraduate, said: “The Financial Times ranking is an important recognition of the quality of our MSc Finance programme and the postgraduate student experience we provide here at the Management School. Being ranked in the top 70 reflects the continued hard work of my colleagues across the School and demonstrates the strength of our offering to current and future students.”
