MSc Sports Business and Management students welcome guest speaker
MSc Sports Business and Management students welcomed Hussain Naqi, Senior Vice President of Jacksonville Jaguars, as he delivered a guest speaker session.
Jacksonville Jaguars is a professional football team that plays in the National Football League (NFL). Hussain is responsible for the club’s UK operation, overseeing the Jaguars’ brand development and sponsorship sales efforts in the UK. He is also responsible for driving synergies between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham Football Club, which share common ownership under billionaire Shad Khan.
During the talk, Hussain gave insight into the structure and governance of the NFL, its franchise model, and how this influences the commercial strategy of its members. He also talked about how geography, heritage, culture and the history of sport in America shapes the strategy and consumption of the NFL, and spoke of the tensions and challenges this creates for the London UK operation.
