The Management School held an award ceremony on Wednesday 13th June to recognise students from the MSc ExECS award programme.

The ULMS Extracurricular Engagement, Careers, and Skills (ExECS) award was launched in 2017 for master’s students and aims to develop their skills in the areas of careers and employability.  In order to take part students needed to undertake a minimum of five activities from the three award categories: skills development, engagement and innovation and employability.

Examples of activities include attending workshops on topics such as group work, critical thinking, presentation skills and The UK graduate jobs market, getting involved with one of the many societies offered by the Guild of Students, volunteering, attending social events and submitting selfies of themselves around the city wearing their ULMS postgraduate hoodies.

At the awards, students who met the required criteria were presented with certificates.  Further recognition was also given to students who stood out in two separate areas.  The ‘Best Selfie award’ was given to Syeda Sabreena Zaman, Katherine Doran, Andirani Polemi and Qi Cao with each of them receiving a £50 Amazon voucher.  Lizbeth Molina Contreras also won the ‘Most Engaged award’ for her commitment throughout the programme and she received a £100 Amazon voucher.

After hearing the positive feedback from students who took part, the programme is set to run again next year.
