Professor Sue Bridgewater, Director of Executive Education and Director of the Centre for Sports Business, has been named as one of three new members to the board of Women in Football.

Women in Football is a network of professional women working in and around the football industry.  The organisation champions female talent in order to change attitudes towards women working in the industry.

After a rigorous recruitment process, Sue was selected alongside Ben Carter, UK Marketing Director at Just Eat, and Lungi Macebo, HR Manager at Charlton Athletic Football Club.  They will be joining the current directors to help add momentum and expertise to drive the organisation forward.

Sue has worked in business and football education for over 20 years and has taught around the world for organisations like League Managers Association, FA Wales, Qatar FA, Qatar Stars League, Portuguese Football Federation and Azerbaijan FA. As well as her role with University of Liverpool, Sue holds a number of roles in football practice. She is also a member of the UEFA Research Grants and Awards Panel and Non Executive Director of the League Managers Association's Institute for High Performance and Leadership.

Commenting on her appointment to the board, Sue said, “This is an ideal opportunity to contribute to the excellent work done by Women in Football. Considerable progress has been made, but there is still further to go in improving women's representation in football, particularly at the executive and board levels. I look forward to helping to achieve positive progress."
