Library prepares for new students
Posted on: 9 August 2017 in Student Experience
With the new academic year approaching the London Library team are busy preparing for this to be the best yet.
New shelving has been installed over the summer to accommodate our dedicated London book collection which caters for all subjects taught on campus as well as providing support materials such as dissertation handbooks, advice for international students, directories of top employers and more.
This year, students will have access to a database of banking data, which will be of great value to London’s new finance students and will complement the existing electronic library at the University and the Finance Lab here in London.
Our KnowHow programme of workshops to support students is being expanded this year to incorporate employability, with CV writing, preparing for interviews and finding graduate jobs complementing our existing programme of academic skills workshops. These workshops enable our students to get the best grades possible while studying and to enhance their career development going forward.
In addition to the teaching and learning materials we can offer the library also provides a relaxing space for busy masters students, and we have purchased extra bean bags this summer to ensure there is enough lounging space to go around! Students can also borrow equipment such as laptops, phone and device chargers, headphones and calculators.
We look forward to welcoming new students to their library.
