London campus hosts entrepreneurship competition

The UK final of the Overseas Talent Entrepreneurial Competition has taken place at the University of Liverpool in London.

The event, organised by YES Global and UVIC involved finalists presenting their business plans in front of a panel of judges with over 270 combined years of knowledge and experience, including Professor Tom Elfring from the University of Liverpool Management School and lecturers from Imperial College London, University of Southampton, Loughborough University, the University of Birmingham and Royal Holloway, University of London.

David Staley, Head of Global Engagement from UVIC Ltd said “Thank you to the University of Liverpool in London – a great Campus situated – like UVIC – in the heart of the City of London, one of the world’s most dynamic and international cities. We were thrilled to work alongside the University of Liverpool in London team hosting the UK Finals of this graduate Competition for the second year running.”

The overall winners, Chinese international student Menglin Sun, an MBA graduate from the Manchester University Business School, and British student Hojjat Azadbakht who studied for his PhD in Manchester, have now competed against around 30 high-performing teams in the China National Convention Center and won the top Award for the best Overseas submission.

Sun and Azadbakht impressed the judges and beat stiff competition with their business plan for ‘Pure Flow Technologies’ a patented graphene aerogel smart air purifier.
