Following a successful British Council inspection in August, the English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Liverpool has been re-accredited for the next four years, with the London campus included for the first time.
Accreditation UK is a quality assurance scheme run by the British Council, in partnership with English UK. The scheme gives an assurance of quality to international students who are taking or are planning to take an English language course in the UK and is widely regarded throughout the world as the marque for quality in language school/centre management, teaching, and student welfare. Centres are inspected every four years in addition to unannounced interim visits.
The ELC scored strengths in thirteen of the fifteen areas that are evaluated, and represents a significant improvement on four years ago. The result places the ELC as the top University Language Centre in the UK who receives Under 18s, and the second University Language Centre overall according to the EL Gazette’s soon-to-be-published 2019 rankings.
The English Language Centre provides pre-sessional English courses for international students holding offers for accounting and finance programmes at the University of Liverpool in London, and offers ongoing academic language and skills support to students on all programmes in London.
