This course aims to introduce and explore sociological approaches to understanding the relationships between health, illness, healthcare and society.

You will consider how social class, gender and ethnicity impacts on patterns of illness alongside the social implications of being ill and how this impacts on individual responses to illness.

There are inevitable links between health, illness, healthcare and society and this course aims to give students an understanding of the impact sociological influences can have on an individual and their health.
