A century of social and sexual change: In conversation with Alan Hollinghurst

Saturday 12 October 2019

Join Alan Hollinghurst in conversation with Liverpool Literary Festival Director, Professor Dinah Birch, for a discussion of his latest novel, The Sparsholt Affair and its exploration of the social and sexual revolutions of the past century. Alan will consider these key themes in his work, and how their life- changing consequences are still being played out today.

The celebrated author behind the 2004 Booker Prize winning The Line of Beauty, Alan is the writer of six novels, and two translations, alongside collections of poetry and short stories.

As one would expect of Hollinghurst, the greatest prose stylist writing in English today, this is a book full of glorious sentences, perhaps his most beautiful novel yet.
