Mr Brian Thompson LL.B, M.Litt .

In administrative justice Brian has done work on ombudsmen and tribunals. He co-authored 'The Ombudsman Enterprise and Administrative Justice' with colleagues at De Montfort and Sheffield universitites which reported research on administrative justice and public services ombudsmen derived from an ESRC funded project. Along with a colleague from the University of Ulster he has produced reports on tribunal reform in Northern Ireland. He is doing further work on the evolution of the ombudsman in the UK and work on tribunals involving a comparison with Australia. He is also interested in the arrangements which regulate the standards and ethics of elected representatives.
