    Personal Statement

    Before joining the University of Liverpool in September 2019, Lorna was a senior lecturer at BPP University for over 7 years. During her time at BPP University Lorna taught law to both undergraduate and postgraduate students and was a programme leader and module leader. Lorna’s legal expertise and passion lies primarily in contract, corporate and commercial law and legal skills.

    Lorna has a keen interest in encouraging students to become independent learners, the incorporation of employability skills into the curriculum, the application of new learning technologies and the enhancement of the student learning experience through innovation. Lorna obtained her PGCPE in 2016 and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

    Prior to working in higher education, Lorna practised as a corporate solicitor in Lawrence Graham (London), Allen & Overy (London) and DWF (Liverpool). Lorna advised on high profile national and international projects and her expertise covered initial public offerings on AIM and the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange, public takeovers, public and private mergers and acquisitions and disposals. Lorna also advised clients on general company law issues, corporate governance, private equity transactions, joint ventures, management buyouts and a range of commercial contracts.
