    Dr Oliver Bartlett

Ollie's research focuses on the way in which law and policy engage with addiction issues, and the way in which law and policy engage with non-communicable disease prevention and control. In particular, Ollie’s current research examines the influence of different theories of addiction on policy, the way in which law conceptualises addiction and addicted individuals, and the way in which policy on addiction can be designed to promote just outcomes for addicted individuals. Ollie also conducts research on alcohol control (in particular minimum unit pricing), on the regulation of food and alcohol marketing to children, on the right to health, and on e-cigarette regulation. Ollie is also generally interested in the relationship between EU internal market law and NCD prevention and the ethics of NCD prevention and public health law.
