Professional Mentoring Scheme

The Professional Mentoring Scheme is open to all second year Law students achieving 60% or above in year one. Students who join the school from our partner Law Schools as part of the Direct Entry programmes are also eligible.

Professional Mentors (ranging from solicitors, barristers, international lawyers, judges, third sector professionals, and other industry professionals) offer invaluable support to students to prepare them for their professional careers. In previous years mentors have guided students through applications processes, offered advice on CVs and interview techniques, and have included them in their professional networks. Some mentors have also been able to offer work experience to their mentees.

Students will be invited to apply to take part in the scheme, and successful students will then be matched with a mentor for the duration of that academic year.

My mentor offers me general advice about the legal profession and even secured me a work placement at the firm he works for ... I completed two weeks work experience there and absolutely loved it ... The scheme is an amazing opportunity that I would really recommend.
