Law Professor shortlisted for prestigious teaching award

A Professor from the University of Liverpool Law School has been shortlisted for the prestigious Law Teacher of the Year Award 2023.
Professor Rob Stokes, currently the Associate Dean (Education) in the School of Law and Social Justice is one of the final five nominees shortlisted for the Award, sponsored by Oxford University Press.
Now in its fifteenth year, the Award is designed to support and reward teaching excellence and is a way to find those exceptional Law teachers who add a bit more, go a bit further, and have that extra something.
The judging panel, made up of distinguished law teachers from across the country, have recently visited campus to observe Rob’s teaching and conduct interviews with his students, colleagues, Head of Department and, of course, Rob himself.
On hearing about his nomination, Rob, who has been teaching at the Liverpool Law School since 2002, said: “It is a real honour to be shortlisted for the Award. I am very grateful to my colleagues, and especially to my students (past and present) for the kindness and generosity they have shown in supporting my nomination. I could not wish for better advocates than our School of Law and Social Justice students!”
Rob has been nominated alongside finalists from the University of Cambridge, University of Lancaster, University of Leicester and University of Sussex.
The winner will be announced at a ‘Celebrating Excellence in Law Teaching’ conference, to be held in London on Friday 16 June 2023.
