A University of Liverpool Law School student has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Future Lawyer of the Year Award 2026 at the targetjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards, one of the UK’s leading national competitions recognising outstanding undergraduate talent.
Katherine Ryan, a final-year Law LLB (Hons) student, is one of 10 finalists across the UK in the category.
The award recognises students who see law not just as rules to learn, but as a tool to shape society, break barriers and drive meaningful change. It celebrates those who demonstrate curiosity, innovation and determination in their approach to legal study, alongside strong academic ability and the ability to engage with complex legal and ethical challenges.
Delivered by targetjobs in partnership with leading employers, the Undergraduate of the Year Awards provide finalists with access to top graduate recruiters and exclusive career opportunities.

The 2026 Grand Final will take place on 24 April at The Pelligon in London, where candidates from across the country will meet for the final stage of the competition and the announcement of category winners.
